The Royal Wedding Alert

We are less than 24 hours away from the Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding, & everyone is trying to jump in on last minute Royal Wedding details as Friday approaches.

Well folks, tomorrow is the big day – 4am CST. Will anybody be up watching? I know a lot of us girls here from Wedding Shoppe Inc. will be watching. Do you have anything planned for the evening to celebrate? There hasn’t been a Royal Wedding in 30 years, something fun should be done if you haven’t already figured it out. I will be sporting an amazing hat I made myself, all dressed up at my British friend’s house enjoying deserts and cocktails. I will take pictures and bring them in to share with the Wedding Shoppe Inc. & My Wedding Chat fans.

We have gotten through wedding hats, bridal headbands, chiffon flower girl dress bridal hair combs, and bridal cocktail dresses 2011 0 all by Sara Gabriel Bridal Accessories so for my final piece is Wedding Clips. A big part of the fashion over in England is hats and fascinators – especially at weddings. Female wedding guests usually wear something on their heads because it’s always been a tradition of theirs. Of course times have changed and so has the style. With wedding hair clips you can find many different styles from traditional to very unconventional styles, it all depends on what kind of bride you are and what you envision for your day. Kate Middleton has a very simple, classic, Cocktail dresses and poised style, but she still stays very up to date on fashion. I chose Watters and Watters Bridal cocktail dresses 2011 8 San Francisco because I think she will be steering towards a more classic style but with a modern twist hence a lace and organza wedding 6 with illusion straps. If you look at Kate’s fashion, she usually has on sleeves of some kind, nothing strapless so she could do a cocktail dresses 2011 1 of some kind, but I think she will keep it more modern with the v-neck and tank top straps.

A few extra things she may end up adding to her wedding day look is a long, very long cathedral bridal veil. My guess would be she goes for a long bridal veil over a long train – a lot more easily removable, but with Westminster Abbey having such a long aisle she will need something trailing behind her so I think she will go for a timeless lace trimmed long bridal veil over a long train. Another thing we could possibly see is if her dress is so simple, she may glam it up with a bridal sash of some kind. With bridal belts and sashes being so popular these days I could see Kate maybe wearing one herself. I picked out both a bridal veil and bridal sash similar to what we could be seeing on Kate Middleton. Who knows though

I was channel surfing and I came upon one of those silly tabloid entertainment shows on television and learned about the Hannah Storm “controversy” (and yes, please do read in all possible sarcasm). The story began like this, “The 48 year old ESPN anchor Hannah Storm…” and then went on to talk about a controversial outfit she wore to a basketball game – a short dress and knee high boots s. Below is the outfit that caused the uproar (see this article for more details on the drama of it all).

Short – perhaps a little; ugg boots clearance uggs scandalous – hardly; news and uproar worthy – NOT. I mean seriously have any of the folks breathing heavy over this watched television lately ugg ugg? There are much bigger concerns to be attended to than Hannah Storm’s dress and boot – for heaven’s sake do these folks realize we have things on television such as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show where people are actually parading around in underwear and bras on primetime? Have these folks seen Baywatch, Desperate Housewives, uggs boots cheap uggs boots cheap ugg boots clearance sale ugg boots clearance sale Dancing with the Stars or perhaps more in the wheelhouse of sports fans – cheerleader outfits?

Perhaps this is the first you have heard of Hannah - I can tell you that I had never heard of her prior to this snippet on the entertainment show. As a woman and member of the new forty who appreciates not only short dresses and boots, but more importantly Hannah’s right to be sexy and confident as she heads into the new forty I am irritated at not only all the hoopla (they even discussed it on The View – The View!! – really Barbara…was what she wearing the equivalent of hot pants?!), but by the way it was reported – leading with her age.

Go ahead…keep this up and I will go kick some butt at ESPN, The View and Inside Edition…and just wait until they see my high kick in that short dress – I’ll be sure to make a strategic underwear choice as well to ensure they have something to talk about as clearly they have nothing better to do with their time and energy.

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.
